House Rules

Upon check-in, US residents must provide a current and valid state-issued photo ID and international guests must provide a current and valid passport. Please note that all special requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability upon check-in.  Residents of Seattle and surrounding Seattle area are not eligible to stay at American Hotel Hostel.

Please note: You must be over the age of 18 to stay at the hostel, or have a parent or guardian present.

American Hotel Hostel has a 14 day maximum day stay limit per 365 day period, (this begins on the day you first check in). Exceptions to this policy require management approval. Please note that alcohol, smoking, and weapons of any kind are not allowed on hostel premises. We are registered as a gun-free business in Seattle. The property does not accept third party payments. Click here to see our frequently asked questions.

At this time, we are not accepting walk-ins. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

All bookings made through this site are confirmed, subject to any conditions highlighted during the booking process. Changes to bookings cannot be made through this website. To make booking changes or cancellations, please e-mail stay@americanhotelseattle.com. 

*Note: If you made your reservation through a third party booking portal such as booking.com or hostelworld.com, please cancel or modify your reservation through their website.

The following applies to cancellations:

• No shows or cancellation within 24 hours of arrival time: equivalent to the cost of one night’s stay. 

• Group bookings with two or more weeks’ advance notice: full deposit refund.

• Group bookings with less than two weeks’ notice: entire deposit forfeited.
